Weekend of April 9 & 10, 2005

Resting at Sea World We enjoyed a morning at Sea World on Saturday compliments of Don and Ina. They volunteer for the visitors' burea and received some free tickets. The invited us and said to be there at 8:00. We got there and Sea World finally let us in at 8:15, but they don't open anything until 9:00. Kinda weird, huh?

We said at a table with them and fed Drew. It was a little chilly, but it gave us time to plan the day. As soon as everything opened with the National Anthem, we hended over to the Dolphins. Weather Boy's dad bought some fish, and Weather Boy fed them. We didn't get any good pictures, but got some decident video.

We checked out most everything. Weather Boy liked the tide pools where you can touch sea stars. He also thought it was cool how we could "go" underwater at the Shark Encounter. He was transfixed by the penguins and all the activity that surrounds them.

We didn't watch any shows but we did make it Shamu's Happy Harbor. Weather Boy was too small for most things, which he didn't seem to mind. We enjoyed probably about an hour playing on a semi-bouncy play mat area. Drewbie really had fun trucking around on it and checking everything and everyone out. The whole trip was worth it for the time they spent playing. I would even consider getting an annual pass just for the play mat.

Showing off the purple worm lures he found On Sunday, we enjoyed another day on Lake San V. The little stream was still there and Weather Boy enjoyed sending boats down it. It seems that the lake is taking over for the zoo. Everyone is happy at the lake and gets to do something they enjoy. Dad gets to drive the boat, kiddos get to play in the dirt and hang out with mom and dad, and I get to soak up some sun and have fun with the kids.

Boat Launch Plus, we all get to watch the weekend warriors trying to put their boats on their trailers. On this trip we got to watch a driver get really fusterated because he couldn't back up the truck and trailer straight to launch the boat. He ended up burning up his clutch on his Ford, but he eventually got the boat launched. Call it one of our guilty pleasures.

OK, I think we are up to date!
