OK, now that's a break!

Still recovering from back surgery and back to work. Lots has happened since last post, so let's get to it.

Weather Boy had his first day of school - Kindergarten! We visited the school the Friday before, and started school on Monday. Very smooth transition.

In between the visit and going to school, we had a heat wave - 100 degrees and high humidity. We spent Sunday and Labor Day Monday at the beach. When we left the house at 9 in the morning to head to the beach, it was already 92 degrees. It was so beautiful and cool there and we had been going for four days without a nap that Drewbie konked out right on the sand.

Before our annual houseboating trip on Trinity Lake, Weather Boy's dad had been looking all around town for a specific digital camera that takes pictures underwater. He didn't find it before we left, but found one in at the Best Buy in Redding and we've been playing with it ever since. These two pictures were taken at our neighbor's pool.

Weather Boy started soccer this year. He seems to be enjoying it and making friends. He is really excited about his uniform. His first game is tomorrow. I'm sure we'll have pictures to post.

In celebration of Weather Boy's preschool gradution (and because Weather Boy's dad got free tickets), Weather Boy and his dad went to a preseason Charger's game. Well, beggers can't be choosers: they were in the upper deck, very last row. Weather Boy seem to enjoy it even though they were sitting in nose bleeds because he liked watching the moths and seemed to follow the game also.

Weather Boy skiied in his cousins' pool with the help of Weather Boy's dad's muscles. The reason why he's in his undies is that we were about to leave, but Weather Boy's dad convinced him to give it a try, so we just went for it. The picture makes me laugh.

Cute picture of the boys at the aquarium.

Drewbie broke his foot in a freak accident. He was out of the cast in less than three weeks, and all it good. Poor Drewbie is a little accident prone, but we survived.

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We celebrated early while the kids were with Grandma and Papa L by going out to eat. Weather Boy's dad custom designed a turtle necklace for me. Very nice.

We had a fire north of us in a canyon close to home in June. Three fire helicopters were taking water from the lake close to us and dropping it on the fire. Weather Boy's dad captured this cool shot. I can't believe how close they get to the water.

We planted a veggie garden in June: some sunflowers, watermelons, pumpkins and corn. Looks like we'll have three small pumpkins, five or so small watermelons, some corn, and some sunflower seeds. It's been fun. I think we'll do a winter garden shortly.

Best to you and yours. I'll try better to keep up with pictures and posts. Until next time...
