Horsing Around

Two weekends ago we went to a unique birthday party. A boy at Drewbie's preschool invited him to a horse birthday party. It was especially unique since we are nothing more than city slickers in this house (and damn proud of it, too!). The ranch where they had the party was out in "booney land," which Weather Boy got a kick out of each time I said it.

The birthday boy's parents rented two horses and each child rode the horse around a large ring. Weather Boy went for it and had fun. Drewbie was a little more hesitant, and after see a few others go ahead of him, he went for it, too. We may have to go out there again with just our family.

It was a pretty close to perfect day. It had rained the night before and was a little cool, which was OK with me.

I think the pictures can speak for themselves.

It's green in SoCal for a few weeks a year and this was one of them. If you click on the picture, you can see some purple and orange flowers in the bottom right hand corner of the picture. I was bummed we didn't have the other lense to get a closer shot.

We are off to two more birthday parties this weekend with an early morning t-ball game for Weather Boy. I hope you have a nice weekend!
